About Shield FInders

Shield Finders is a fin-tech and social investment firm providing financial services without walls to Entrepreneurs, SMEs, artisans, businesses, individuals, rural communities and the unbanked. We leverage on technology and digital mediums to provide tailored loan to individuals, SMEs and businesses in form of working capital without all the formal barriers that prevents them from accessing loans from the formal commercial banks. We believe access to credit and quality financial services is a sustainable way to eradicate poverty and unemployment from Africa. Our mission is to empower all (most especially: Entrepreneurs, SMEs, artisans, businesses, individuals, rural communities and the unbanked) people, with the financial access they need to pursue a life of dignity, prosperity and fulfilment.
In Nigeria, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, MSMEs contributes about N38.8 trillion (48.47%) to the nation’s Gross Domestic Product, GDP. Their contribution to the transmission of agricultural led economy to industrial ones cannot be overemphasized. It helps in the absorption of productive resources at all levels of the economy and contributes to the building of flexible economic system in which small and large firms are interlinked. Despite this, less than 7% of the over 37 million SMEs in Nigeria have access to loan and needed financial services due to the bottleneck formalities. Furthermore, people living on less than US$2.50 a day urgently need reliable financial services. They need to be able to safely save, borrow, make payments and use insurance. But globally, over two billion people have no access to such services. We develop solutions to meet the needs of very poor people, with special attention to including women. Our solutions help people build their vision, businesses, assets, weather crisis and manage risk. We realised the collateral, high interest rates and requirements which the commercial banks requests from these set of start-ups, businesses, poor individuals, rural communities makes it nearly impossible for them to enjoy full financial facilities and loan to help scale their businesses. Our strategy is to have personal relationship with those set of un-served businesses, develop tailored financial services and finance that suits each on individual scale and meet them in a sustainable way. By so doing, it is a win-win scenario for both investors and the unbanked businesses in Africa. We use mobile phones, saving groups, associations etc. to connect people to loans, saving schemes and powerful financial services.
